“A Place Called Home” is a commissioned work for a client whose recollection of visits to her grandmother’s home in Eastern Kansas holds a special place in her heart. Every detail of the finished painting reflects memories and events that are important to the client and her family: the wall paper pattern in her grandmother’s kitchen, the swing set in the backyard, the Kansas wildflowers that the family gathered in memory of loved ones, and the scene of the rolling hills and farms of eastern Kansas, all have special significance to my client.
